THE HOLIDAY THEY SAID WOULD NEVER HAPPEN
It was near the end of the Civil War in America, when George Washington suggested to President Abraham Lincoln that we needed some kind of light holiday so that America could get back its sense of humor.
“It is all together fitting and proper that these United States
of America just lighten up and set aside April 1st of every year
as a day full of jokes and light barbs. So, I President Abraham “Side-Splitter” Lincoln, do hearby declare every first day of April to be National Gullible Day!”
